TRANSCENDENTALE / ESOTERISCHE KUNST – KUNST MET EEN BOODSCHAP
Zoals het begin van de Westerse religieuze schilderkunst een afbeelding was van de inhoud van de bijbel voor een grotendeels analfabetisch publiek, appelleert esoterische kunst ook rechtstreeks aan de beschouwer met minimale tussenkomst van taal.
De beelden zijn geïnspireerd ontstaan en niet volgens een canon, zoals bijvoorbeeld de Byzantijnse iconen. Wat zij evenwel ermee gemeen hebben is de ‘verheven‘ aard, met andere woorden: de functie, die ten doel heeft om de beschouwer in contact te brengen met zijn wezenlijke aard, op een hoger plan dan het dagelijks bestaan. Dit is ook het geval met de Tibetaanse Thangka rolschilderijen, waarmee een duidelijke verwantschap bestaat.
Het doel van deze serie geïnspireerde schilderijen is om de beschouwer in contact te brengen met zijn onsterfelijke aard, hetgeen een zeer bemoedigende werking heeft op zijn hele levensvisie. Alle angst is uiteindelijk terug te brengen tot doodsangst en wanneer die zou zijn vervangen door een onvergankelijk positief zelfbeeld, hebben deze schilderijen hun dienst bewezen.
Mijn overtuiging is, dat zuivere beeldende kunst geen onwaarheid kan voortbrengen. Ontstaan uit het onbewuste is het mijn taak, om langs deze weg anderen mee te laten delen in deze vorm van positieve bewustzijnsvorming.
TRANSCENDENTAL/ESOTERIC ART – ART WITH A MESSAGE
At the beginning of Western art its purpose was to convey the content of the Bible to a largely analphabetic public. Also the, for the large part anonymity of the artist, contributed to a direct experience of the message of the image. Likewise, esoteric art appeals directly to the viewer with minimal linguistic intervention.
The present images appeared spontaneously and not according to a canon as in Byzantine icons. What they do have in common is their ‘exalted ‘ nature, in other words: its function, whose purpose it is to make contact between the viewer and his authentic individuality on a plane over and above everyday life. That holds also true for the Tibetan Thangka scrolls, with which there is a clear affinity.
The purpose of these inspired paintings is to establish contact between the viewer and his true, eternal nature, which has an encouraging effect on his outlook on life. Every fear can be traced back to the fear of death and when this could be replaced by a positive self – image, these paintings have fulfilled their purpose.
It is my sincere opinion, that pure fine art cannot produce lies. Originated from the unconscious, it is my task to share with others this positive development in awareness.
