P R O F E T I E
Een Maori profeteerde onlangs dat een globale crisis inzicht moet geven in de verkeerde manier waarop de mens met de natuur omgaat; met de huidige pandemie schijnt die in vervulling te gaan. Is het mogelijk om liefde en eerbied voor de natuur terug te brengen waar de mens langdurig in schandelijke overtreding is geweest?
Nog niet zo lang geleden stond de wereld aan de rand van een kernenergie oorlog die tot zelfmoord geleid zou hebben van de ons bekende menselijke ‘beschaving’ en ternauwernood is afgewend. Staat ons iets dergelijks te wachten? De tekenen zijn er naar. Is de stroming om deze ramp te voorkomen sterk genoeg om het gevaar te keren? Of is onze cultuur te ver afgedwaald om een brug te slaan met onze achterban en vermorzelen we Moeder Aarde zonder alternatief? Het zou kunnen zijn dat er een heel nieuw tijdperk in het vooruitzicht ligt, maar niet zonder gepast afscheid van onze voedster, die het niet verdiend heeft om te worden omgebracht door haar ondankbaar gebroed. Als terugkeer geen optie is moet op z’n minst een berouwvolle schuldbekentenis en herstel van aangedaan leed waar mogelijk, in werking treden. Een liefdevol samengaan van mogelijkheden voor een toekomstige samenleving is het beste alternatief in het groeiend besef dat men zijn achtergrond niet moet verloochenen, maar in dankbaarheid accepteren. This well known adaptation from the Old Testament (Dan.5/25), is as applicable today as it was then. Debaucheries had come to
a seething point of no return and only intervention of the God Almighty would do. Our position as a culture is not dissimilar and
possibly only to be stopped by a pandemic of global proportions as the world is currently experiencing. History repeats itself in
different way’s and since the human race does not seem to learn from the past, each generation has to find out for itself. A ‘new
heaven and new earth’ has been promised (Rev.21/1), but not before a permanent realization of remorse has set in followed by a
repair of done damages. With every destruction a new era seems to start with new possibilities, overriding the past with fresh
knowledge of the task at hand. We may not overcome new challenges, but at least be done with some old ones; looking back, the
human race seems to have made some head-way in spite of temporary set-backs, a hopeful sign for future developments.
Without reliving the past, it must be possible to consolidate the positive elements and bring them together with new inventions.
After all, it is the intention that counts, bringing us a step closer to the realization of a ‘new heavens and earth’; possibly they are
not so ‘new’, aside from a new understanding of the age-old wisdom of Truth, replacing matter by Spirit. (30-03-2020)
